Our wax thermal transfer ribbons are primarily used in applications requiring economical, short-term printing, such as paper or vellum labels. Examples include:

Advantages of our wax thermal transfer ribbons:

Our wax-resin thermal transfer ribbons are a compromise between wax and pure resin ribbons. They are formulated to offer greater durability than wax ribbons, but without reaching the level of resistance of resin ribbons.
They are ideal for printing on materials that require moderate resistance to abrasion, rubbing, or environments with some humidity or heat, such as:
• Labels that will be exposed to increased touch (clothing, footwear, sales tags)
• Labels for shelves, pallets, or containers
• Semi-industrial or covered outdoor environments
• Labels for refrigerated foods

Advantages of our wax-resin thermal transfer ribbons:

• Greater resistance than pure wax
• Excellent definition of barcodes and small text
• Compatible with coated and synthetic papers (such as polypropylene)

Our resin thermal transfer ribbons are the most durable and resistant of the three categories (wax, wax-resin, resin). They are designed for demanding industrial applications, where labels must withstand extreme conditions such as abrasion, chemicals, heat, humidity, and even outdoor exposure. Examples include:

• Printed labels for the chemical, industrial, and petrochemical industries
• Labels that must comply with GHS (GHS) standards
• Laboratory and hospital labels exposed to blood, tissue, or alcohol
• Labeling of boards, electronic circuits, cables, or connectors
• Labels exposed to sun, rain, or salt water
• Labels resistant to fuel, oil, friction, and heat
• Labels that must not be erased or altered
• Labels applied to engines, chassis, and vehicle interiors
• Long-term identification labels

Our Near Edge thermal transfer ribbons are specifically designed for printers with a slanted (near edge) print head, as opposed to the flat head found on standard printers. These printers are used in applications requiring high print speeds and efficient ink transfer in automated production lines. Examples of their applications and printer manufacturers include:

• For flexible packaging printers in the food and pharmaceutical industries
• For printing directly onto flexible film, polypropylene, polyethylene, etc.
• For printing expiration dates, batches, ingredients, and barcodes
• High-speed, real-time printing
• High-speed variable printing
• Printing on snacks, dairy products, frozen foods, cold cuts, bakery products, etc.
• Printing needs on blister packs, envelopes, bags, etc.
